Smooth glow
Smooth skin starts at the surface.
Which layer your skin needs now, we decide together in the consult.

At Mavi, dermaplaning is a preparatory technique. By removing peach fuzz and dead skin cells, a Hydrafacial works more evenly and serums penetrate deeper. Your skin instantly looks smoother and catches the light more beautifully — with no downtime.
Using a sterile surgical blade, the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair is gently removed. A controlled, superficial exfoliation — painless and with no recovery time. Skin is smoother afterwards and absorbs actives better.
Never loose — always in a plan
Dermaplaning is part of a plan, not a one-off treatment.
We don't decide on a single treatment in advance. During your Skin Strategy Consult we analyse your skin and build a plan — which treatment, in which order, at which rhythm. Only then do we schedule sessions. So you know exactly where Dermaplaning fits in your story.
· Optionally combined before the Hydrafacial, or as maintenance every 4–6 weeks — determined within your journey. We never combine dermaplaning within the same week as a microneedling session.
How it works
What happens beneath the skin
Gentle exfoliation
The top layer of dead skin cells is removed in a controlled way — the skin surface becomes instantly smoother.
Fuzz disappears
The fine vellus hair goes with it — light and make-up sit more beautifully on the skin.
Deeper absorption
Without that barrier, serums and follow-up treatments penetrate more evenly and deeply.

Aftercare
- Strict SPF — freshly exfoliated skin is more sun-sensitive
- No acids, scrubs or retinol for 24 hours
- Preferably no make-up for the rest of the day; mild, hydrating care
- Active acne or inflamed skin in the zone
- Active cold sore
- Very reactive or damaged skin — mention beforehand
Staying honest
What you can and can't expect
What it is
- An instantly smoother, fresher skin surface
- Better absorption of serums and follow-up treatments
- Make-up and light that sit more beautifully on the skin
- No structural lift or collagen treatment
- Not hair removal — fuzz grows back exactly as it was
- Not a solution for active acne or inflammation

Questions
Good to know
Does my fuzz grow back thicker or darker?+
No — that's a myth. Vellus hair grows back exactly as it was; the blade changes nothing about hair structure or growth.
Is dermaplaning suitable for sensitive skin?+
Usually yes: it's a mechanical exfoliation without acids. With active inflammation or very reactive skin we postpone it — we discuss this in your consult.
Why before the Hydrafacial?+
Without fuzz and dead skin cells, the Hydrafacial works more evenly and the serums penetrate deeper. The combination strengthens the result of both.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?+
Preferably not for the rest of the day — your skin has just been exfoliated. From the next morning, make-up actually sits more beautifully than before.
Does Dermaplaning suit your skin?
During your Skin Strategy Consult we determine together whether this treatment fits — and in which order within your plan.
